Restaurant Branding Applications and Packaging Design

While working at GSHARP Studio, Pouyan and I collaborated as Graphic Designers and Art Directors on a design project for Angelo Italian Restaurant. The logo had already been developed, and our role focused on expanding the brand into practical visual applications used throughout the restaurant.
The project began with industrial food photography to capture the dishes and ingredients. These visuals later became the foundation for menu design and other communication materials across the restaurant.
A major part of the project involved designing custom takeaway packaging tailored to different food items. Instead of using generic containers, we developed structural packaging and dielines based on the size of the meals. One example was a triangular container designed for single pizza slices, allowing the restaurant to package leftover slices in a smaller and more economical format rather than using a full pizza box.
Alongside the packaging system, we designed the restaurant's printed menu and a motion based digital menu displayed on in store screens. At the time, animated menu boards were still uncommon in local restaurants, and the motion graphics helped attract attention and create a more dynamic customer experience. The moving visuals made the dishes more noticeable and turned the menu screens into a subtle marketing tool inside the restaurant.
We also designed disposable items and custom tray liner papers. One tray liner concept included a cross promotion for Subzero Italian Ice Cream, a neighboring brand owned by the same company.
